Company Background
Organic Hill Farming Company Limited was established on 25th October 2020 taking over the Usambara Push Pull Programme and Happy Cows Project to transform social initiatives into a commercial business venture for long-term sustainability.
Our primary aim is to establish organic agriculture extension and marketing services within the Usambara Mountains and the provision of essential seed for Push-Pull as well as Agroforestry. We are deeply committed to improving the Usambara Mountains’ ecosystem.
Usambara Mountains Ecosystem
The Lushoto District and the Usambara Mountains are defined by steep, highly hilly terrain and sensitive ecosystems. Rapid deforestation, unsustainably intensive slope farming, and severe soil erosion degraded land quality across the region.
These ecological crises directly led to the establishment of the Usambara Push-Pull Programme. Integrating Push-Pull technology and agroforestry into organic farming stabilizes steep mountain soils, halts soil erosion, boosts soil fertility, and restores the Usambara ecosystem.
Led by Ms. Oliver Venance Mrosso (CEO & BD Engineer), our team has built strong institutional links across East Africa and international organic networks.
